Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide patient care and support for individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and autism.
- Monitor vital signs and report any changes in the client's condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Prepare meals and assist with meal planning according to dietary needs.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and laundry.
- Assist with medication administration as per care plans while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts for patient transfers when necessary.
- Engage clients in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
- Document care provided and maintain accurate records of client progress and observations.
Skills
- First Aid and CPR certification are preferred.
- Experience in home health care, hospice care, or long-term care settings is highly valued.
- Strong skills in patient observation and monitoring to ensure safety and comfort.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients with mobility challenges.
- Knowledge of care plans and experience in direct support roles is beneficial.
- Excellent cooking skills for meal preparation tailored to individual dietary requirements.
- Familiarity with memory care techniques and approaches for working with seniors or individuals with disabilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
