Job Summary:

Portage State Bank is seeking an individual to join our banking team as a Bank Teller. A Teller is someone who will complete deposits, withdrawals, and other financial interactions while providing excellent customer service to all customers. Tellers are key members of the team and are responsible for making customers feel valued.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Process customer transactions (cash deposits, withdrawals, transfers, etc.) accurately and efficiently
- Maintain and balance cash drawers and reconcile discrepancies
- Identify customer needs and suggest appropriate bank services
- Build and maintain customer loyalty by providing excellent customer service
- Resolve customer complaints in a timely and professional manner
- Ensure compliance with all financial policies and regulations
- Evaluates checks to verify endorsements, dates, identification of persons receiving payments, bank names, and overall legality of the documents.
- Maintains a work area that ensures the safety of all negotiables and confidential records
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:

- Trustworthiness and the ability to act with integrity.
- Thorough understanding of customer service.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Basic Microsoft Office skills
- Previous banking or cash handling experience is a plus
Physical Requirements:
- May require lifting bags/boxes of coin weighing up to 50 pounds
- May require standing for extended periods of time
- May require bending and stooping
HOURS:
- 40 hours per week (full-time)
- Monday – Friday, with some Saturdays
Salary:
- Salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications.
