Role Description The Lead Line Cook is a full-time, on-site role based at Bar Pazzo in Scranton, PA. This position is responsible for preparing, cooking, and plating menu items to specification, while maintaining high standards of quality, presentation, and speed of service. Day-to-day tasks include organizing the line, setting up and breaking down stations, managing prep lists, monitoring food inventory, and supporting efficient service during peak hours. The Lead Line Cook helps train and guide other line cooks, ensures food safety and sanitation procedures are followed, and communicates effectively with chefs, servers, and support staff. This role is hands-on and requires active participation in service, problem-solving during busy periods, and contributing to a positive, respectful kitchen culture.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in a line cook or lead cook role in a high-volume, scratch kitchen.
- Strong skills in station setup, food preparation, cooking techniques, and consistent plating.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and proper handling and storage of ingredients.
- Ability to lead by example, support training of kitchen team members, and communicate clearly with staff.
- Capacity to work efficiently under pressure, manage time well, and adapt to changing service demands.
- Reliability in attendance, punctuality, and adherence to restaurant policies and procedures.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
