Bar None Auction is a leading auction company specializing in construction equipment, commercial trucks, transportation assets and industrial equipment. With multiple locations across the West Coast, our team supports large-scale live and online auctions while providing exceptional service to buyers and sellers. Our yard operations team plays a critical role in supporting these efforts by ensuring equipment, vehicles and company facilities are clean, safe, organized and ready for auction. This role supports daily operations by detailing equipment, performing janitorial and general yard maintenance duties, preparing assets for photography and display, and helping maintain a professional environment for employees and customers.

Position Summary


The Detailer is responsible for cleaning, preparing and maintaining equipment, vehicles and auction assets for sale. This role also performs general janitorial and yard maintenance duties to help ensure company facilities remain clean, safe and organized. The Detailer works closely with yard staff, inventory and sales teams to support efficient auction preparation while following company policies and all applicable state and federal labor laws.

Job Responsibilities

• Clean, wash, polish and detail equipment and vehicles in preparation for auction events


• Perform minor cosmetic repairs or touch-ups as needed to ensure assets are presentable


• Stage and position assets in the yard according to auction layout and safety standards


• Inspect equipment and vehicles for damage, missing parts or issues and report findings to management


• Assist yard and inventory staff with movement and organization of assets


• Perform general janitorial duties, including cleaning restrooms, break rooms, offices and other common areas as assigned


• Maintain cleanliness of the yard by removing trash, debris and other materials to promote a safe and professional work environment


• Sweep, pressure wash and clean work areas, sidewalks, loading areas and other company property as needed


• Maintain cleaning supplies, tools and equipment in a safe and organized condition


• Follow all safety policies, OSHA requirements and company procedures when operating cleaning equipment


• Support load-in and load-out operations during auction events as needed


• Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned work areas, storage areas and company facilities


• Accurately record all hours worked in the company's timekeeping system in accordance with company policy and state law


• Perform other duties as assigned to support auction operations

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.


• Prior experience in detailing, automotive or equipment cleaning, janitorial services, facility maintenance or general labor preferred.


• Ability to safely operate pressure washers, cleaning tools and basic equipment.


• Basic knowledge of vehicle and heavy equipment cleaning techniques preferred.


• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.


• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality presentation of auction assets.


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.


• Ability to safely operate, or willingness to learn to operate, equipment and vehicles.


• Valid driver's license preferred.


• Ability to perform a variety of detailing, janitorial and general yard maintenance duties.


• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.


• Strong work ethic with reliable attendance and punctuality.


• Ability to identify and report damage, missing parts or safety concerns.


• Commitment to following company safety policies and procedures.

• Ability to walk, stand and bend for extended periods of time.


• Ability to lift, carry, push or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.


• Ability to kneel, stoop, crouch and reach as needed.


• Ability to use pressure washers, cleaning tools, janitorial equipment and machinery safely.


• Ability to perform repetitive cleaning and maintenance tasks throughout the workday.


• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Work Environment


This position frequently works both indoors and outdoors in auction yards, warehouses, offices, restrooms and equipment storage areas. Exposure to dust, noise, cleaning chemicals, moving machinery, vehicle traffic and changing weather conditions is common. Personal protective equipment may be required.

Compliance and Workplace Expectations


 • This is a non-exempt hourly position eligible for overtime pay in accordance with applicable state and federal wage and hour laws


 • Employees are required to accurately record all time worked and are prohibited from working off the clock


 • Meal and rest periods will be provided in accordance with applicable California or Oregon state law based on the employee’s work location


 • The company complies with all applicable workplace safety regulations, and employees are expected to follow all safety rules and immediately report hazards or injuries
