Job Overview
As an Instructor at The Bar Method Mount Kisco, you will play a vital role in creating a positive and energizing class experience for our clients. If selected after your interview and audition, you will go through our extensive teacher training program to become a certified Bar Method instructor. Once certified and through ongoing continuing educational workshops and training, you will have the knowledge base to design and deliver engaging and challenging Bar Method classes, providing guidance and modifications to accommodate various fitness levels, and fostering a supportive and motivating environment. This position requires strong instructional skills, a passion for fitness, and the ability to inspire and empower others.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching
- Plan and deliver safe, effective, and engaging Bar Method classes that align with our class formats, our safety guidelines and client goals
- Demonstrate proper form and technique, ensuring clients understand and execute exercises correctly
- Provide Bar Method approved modifications to accommodate different fitness levels, abilities, and injuries
- Use Bar Method tools to enhance your classes, making them challenging, yet achievable for all clients
Client Engagement & Retention
- Build strong relationships with clients, creating a welcoming and supportive environment
- Greet clients and address their needs, inquiries, and concerns before and after classes
- Encourage participation, and provide personalized recommendations and modifications under The Bar Method guidelines for clients to enhance their workouts
- Actively promote other studio offerings, such as pop-ups, challenges, and work closely with other team members to drive sales, increase client engagement and retention
Studio Operations
- Collaborate with Studio Manager and other team members to ensure smooth operations, delightful client experience, and a positive studio environment/community
- Perform administrative tasks including but not limited to, answering phones, scheduling classes, managing client packages, processing payments, checking clients in for their classes and following up with leads
Qualifications and Skills
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to connect with people and create a positive and inclusive class environment
- Energetic, enthusiastic, and passionate about fitness and helping others to achieve their goals
- Ability to amplify your personality when teaching, like an actor on a stage
- Dexterity to hear and implement feedback on the spot
- Ability to work weekday morning and/or afternoons/evenings, and alternate weekends as required by the needs of the studio to meet the 10 class weekly minimum
Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15.0 – 20.0 per week
