3rd Shift: Monday–Friday | 10:00 p.m.–6:30 a.m.

Job Summary
The Glass Inspector is responsible for maintaining quality standards throughout the glass milling process by visually inspecting incoming glass materials, identifying defects, debris, and unacceptable contamination, and ensuring materials meet established operational and quality requirements.
This position supports daily Ball Mill operations through continuous material inspection, equipment operation, basic troubleshooting, preventive maintenance support, and prompt communication of quality or equipment concerns. The Glass Inspector plays an important role in maintaining product quality, production efficiency, equipment reliability, and a clean and safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities
Quality & Material Inspection
- Sort and inspect incoming glass materials for debris, foreign objects, defects, and unacceptable contamination.
- Conduct continuous visual inspections throughout the production process.
- Identify and reject materials that do not meet established quality standards.
- Communicate quality concerns, contamination issues, or required process adjustments to the Ball Mill Manager promptly.
- Maintain consistent attention to material quality throughout the assigned shift.
- Support efforts to prevent contaminated or unacceptable materials from entering the milling process.
Equipment Operation & Maintenance Support
- Safely operate approved material handling equipment, including forklifts and front loaders.
- Perform basic equipment troubleshooting during production.
- Operate and maintain measurement equipment according to established operating instructions.
- Identify equipment concerns and submit repair requests when maintenance support is required.
- Perform assigned preventive maintenance activities, including equipment greasing.
- Assist with basic equipment maintenance activities, including bearing changes, as trained and directed.
- Maintain equipment, tools, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
Production & Operational Support
- Support daily Ball Mill operations to help meet production, quality, and efficiency goals.
- Follow production schedules, work instructions, and operational procedures.
- Communicate equipment issues, material concerns, or production interruptions promptly.
- Work collaboratively with Ball Mill personnel, Maintenance, Quality, and leadership to resolve operational concerns.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and equipment reliability.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respiratory protection when required.
- Follow applicable OSHA, IOSHA, environmental, and company safety requirements.
- Safely operate forklifts, front loaders, and other approved equipment.
- Follow written and verbal safety instructions accurately.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions, equipment concerns, incidents, or potential hazards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Qualifications & Skills
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous manufacturing, production, quality inspection, or industrial experience preferred.
- Ability to safely operate a forklift and front loader; previous experience or certification preferred.
- Ability to become trained and authorized to operate required equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects, debris, and material contamination.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions accurately.
- Ability to communicate quality, safety, and equipment concerns effectively.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Ability to work assigned shifts, overtime, weekends, and additional hours as business needs require.
