What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Service Technician position at BAR Environmental?
Job Description
Qualified candidates should possess demonstrated skills in the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial equipment. This includes addressing mechanical and electrical issues in machinery such as grinders, screens, pumps, and chemical feed equipment. Proficiency in electrical wiring for such equipment, as well as the installation and repair of control panels and general construction, is essential. Ideally, we are looking for a versatile construction generalist for this position.
While prior industry experience is advantageous, it is not mandatory.
Candidates must be willing to travel, with typical overnight trips lasting 1-2 days; however, larger projects may necessitate longer travel periods of up to a couple of weeks. Familiarity with OSHA safety requirements—such as lockout/tagout procedures, ladder safety, and working in confined spaces—is a significant asset.
We are seeking individuals with a diverse background in small construction projects, a strong mechanical foundation, and experience with three-phase electrical systems, particularly with 230 and 460 volt equipment. Additional valuable skills include plumbing, welding, and general mechanical and construction capabilities.
