The Role
As a Store Lead & Keyholder, you’ll be responsible for running the boutique during all opening hours, supporting daily operations, and creating a warm, memorable shopping experience. You’ll serve as Manager on Duty when the founder is out, and you’ll play a critical role in bringing the Bar & Cocoa brand to life in-person.
This is a hands-on role where reliability, trust, and customer focus are everything. You’ll open and close the store, handle register operations, and make sure customers leave feeling delighted and informed.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as keyholder, responsible for all opening and closing routines, including bank deposits and register counts
- Serve as Manager on Duty when leadership is out—addressing customer issues, store needs, and vendor deliveries
- Deliver a high-touch customer experience: greet shoppers, share chocolate stories, offer samples, and provide recommendations
- Support merchandising: keep displays stocked, clean, and visually appealing
- Assist with receiving and unpacking shipments, inventory processing, and stockroom organization
- Train and guide seasonal or part-time associates as needed
- Support in-store tastings, and promotions
- Uphold safety and cleanliness standards for an inviting, safe environment
Requirements
- 2 years in retail, hospitality, or customer-facing roles (keyholder or shift lead experience preferred)
- Previous leadership, shift lead, or keyholder experience required
- Comfortable working independently and taking initiative
- Engaging and approachable, with strong communication skills
- Able to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak seasons

- High school diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements
- Able to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts
- Able to bend, reach, climb ladders, and move/store product as needed
- Comfortable lifting and moving up to 50 pounds (shipments, displays, product cases)

Pay
$18–$22 per hour DOE
Salary : $18 - $22
