What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ranch Manager position at Bar A Ranch LLC?
Bar A Ranch is looking to add a full-time ranch manager position. We are seeking a dedicated, hands-on Ranch Manager to work directly with the owners and our existing team. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in helping grow the operation.
About: Bar A Ranch is located in Nashville, Georgia. Bar A is a family-owned integrated cow/calf and row crop operation. Crops include cotton, peanuts, corn and hay. Angus and SimAngus cows are the foundation of the registered and commercial herds. Each year, we host The Source Bull Sale, in conjunction with other seedstock breeders across Georgia to sell high-quality bulls.
Main Responsibilities:
- Beef Cattle Herd Management - Herd Health, Daily Management, Calving Assistance
- Bull Sale Preparation
- Assist with planting, growing, and harvest season duties
- Assist with hay production
- Assist with pasture management
- Facility and equipment maintenance
- Maintain and repair facilities as needed (fences, waterlines, barns, etc.)
- Help with equipment upkeep and maintenance as needed
Qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years of production agriculture experience
- Experience with beef cattle and herd health is required
- Working with cattle is required. The candidate must be comfortable working with livestock.
- Experience with row crops/hay production is a preference
- Proficiency in driving a tractor and large equipment
- Mechanical work/can work on equipment as needed
Compensation:
- Salary based on experience
- Working some Saturdays/weekend is required
- Flexible hours as needed
- Housing as a possibility
Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
