Job Summary: The RN assists the staff and physician by collecting pertinent patient information needed to determine physical and psychological needs, address and identify health problems, performs selected treatments, diagnostic procedures and routine duties. The RN functions as a member of the healthcare team with responsibilities commensurate with educational preparation, training and demonstrated competencies. Direct patient care is provided to patients of all ages. The RN assesses patients for pain and history of treatment. This is a direct patient care position with additional meticulous documentation of pain and prior treatment working closely with the physician with graduated autonomy with oversight. Additional training in pain management is provided as a part of this position.
Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required:
- Graduation from an accredited RN program
- Current active RN license from Kentucky Board of Nursing (KBN) or compact state
- Minimum two years of direct patient care experience
- Direct patient care experience in an ICU, critical care, emergency department, or similar high acuity setting, or personal experience in pain management preferred.
