Title: Environmental Services - Maintenance
Reports To: Campus Director / Village Manager
Summary of Responsibilities: The Maintenance position has overall responsibility for ensuring the facility is maintained in excellent condition, both inside and out, and is fully functional. All responsibilities will be conducted in a manner that is consistent with the philosophy of The Neighborhoods.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs maintenance functions inside and outside the facility.
- Responds to reported maintenance/problems. Inspects facility for potential maintenance problems.
- Orders and maintains maintenance supplies (lights, paint, etc.).
- Maintains all equipment in good working function.
- Maintains outdoor grounds.
- Demonstrates an appreciation of the heritage, values, and wisdom of the residents and an understanding of the aging process.
Other Duties:
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experience in performing maintenance functions.
- Must be able to work flexible hours.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license. If required, a Commercial Driver’s License.
- Must be able to relate to residents and staff in a courteous and diplomatic manner under all circumstances.
Working Conditions:
- Exposed to body fluids, infection, odors, and behavior of residents.
- Exposed to chemicals/cleaning solutions.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift/push up to 75 pounds.
- Must be able to lift, carry, stand, bend, squat, crawl, reach, kneel, push, pull, and twist using good body mechanics for sustained periods of time.
- Must be able to walk approximately 4 miles daily.
- Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be full met.
- Must not have any health conditions that prevent meeting the requirements of this position (e.g., allergies that prevent outside work during certain times of the year).
