Position Summary:
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, comfortable, and tidy environment for
residents and common areas in Residential Living. This role directly supports the mission of Baptist Village
Communities: "Enhancing Lives by Serving God, Serving You, Serving Together."
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Clean resident apartments, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, disinfecting surfaces, doing their laundry as needed and emptying
trash.
- Clean and sanitize common areas including hallways, lounges, public restrooms, and dining spaces.
- Restock cleaning supplies and report inventory needs to supervisor.
- Report maintenance concerns or unsafe conditions promptly.
- Follow all infection control, universal precautions, and safety procedures in compliance with organizational
policies and Oklahoma State Department of Health regulations.
- Practice respectful and courteous interaction with residents, staff, and visitors.
- Maintain resident privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and resident rights.
- Observe and report any changes in residents' condition or behavior to appropriate personnel.
- Attend all required training and in-services, including emergency response and fire safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Prior housekeeping or janitorial experience preferred, ideally in a healthcare or senior living setting.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Compassion for the elderly and ability to interact with them respectfully.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Must be able to read and understand cleaning labels and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
Working Conditions:
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals, odors, and environmental allergens.
- Possible exposure to bodily fluids or infectious diseases (PPE and training provided).
- Moderate physical activity; must be able to lift 25 lbs., bend, stoop, stand, and walk for extended periods.
