Job Description – Retail Store Clerk of the Baptist Book Store
Title: Retail Store Clerk – Part Time
Wages: Starting at $13 per hour
Job Summary: Obtain or receive merchandise, total bill, accept payment, and make change for customers in bookstore by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities and Duties:

- Provide a friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging all customers, maintaining outstanding standards, and maintaining solid product knowledge along with all other components of customer service.
- Answer customer's questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise.
- Accurately and efficiently complete all sales transactions; total price and tax on merchandise purchased by customer to determine bill; accept payment and make change.
- Remove and record the amount of cash in register at end of shift.
- Assist in processing and replenishing merchandise; participate in receiving and monitoring floor stock.
- Stock shelves, counters, and tables with merchandise and maintain their cleanliness.
- Stamp, mark, or tag price on merchandise.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, team building and computer skills.
- Must be able to multitask, work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Effectively identify issues; address and resolve them accordingly.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., and stand for prolonged periods of time including bending, climbing, kneeling, reaching, carrying, pushing, and pulling.
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.

Pay: $13.50 - $14.00 per hour
