What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surgical Technologist- Surgery position at Baptist Memorial Hosp Oktibbeha County/ BMHOC?
The Surgical Technologist is a graduate of an accredited surgical technology program. The Surgical Tech assists the surgeon as a scrub tech, assists the circulating nurse under his/her direct supervision, assists in housekeeping duties of the unit and maintains and increases standards of performance and education.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program
- Demonstration of recent and relevant experience
- Current BLS certification
- Participation in continuing education programs related to operating room nursing and mandatory OCH in-service programs
- Ability to meet daily physical demands of the job
- Cognitive ability to follow directions
JOB RELATIONSHIPS:
- Works under the direct supervision of the staff RN
- Works closely with other professional and nonprofessional personnel in the OR, as well as interdepartmental relationships and patients/families
