Highlights
Summary: The Resident shall be responsible to provide patient care that is compassionate, appropriate, and effective for the treatment of health problems. This individual will demonstrate medical knowledge about established and evolving biomedical, clinical, and cognate sciences, as well as the application of this knowledge to patient care. The Resident shall show practice-based learning and improvement that involves the investigation and evaluation of care for their patients, the appraisal and assimilation of scientific evidence, and improvements in patient care. Additionally, the Resident will develop interpersonal and communication skills that result in the effective exchange of information and collaboration with patients, their families, and other health professionals.
Education/Experience
Graduate from a medical school in the United States or Canada, accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) or a graduate from a college of osteopathic medicine in the United States, accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or a graduate from a medical school outside of the United States or Canada and holds a currently valid certificate from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). Must apply through Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Must be eligible to participate in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).
Licensure/Certification
Must be eligible for full unrestricted medical licensure in the state of Alabama after completion of PGY-2 year. Must apply and obtain full unrestricted medical licensure in the state of Alabama when eligible. BLS, ACLS, and PALS required.
