What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Nurse - Mammography/Full Time, Days position at Baptist Health Care Corporation?
The Registered Nurse manages individualized, goal-directed nursing care through use of specialized knowledge and skills in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures. This includes the assessment, care planning, and direct care of patients before, during and after diagnostic imaging procedures. Serves as an educator for breast cancer prevention, detection and treatment options. Coordinates patient appointments and delivery of procedure results, as directed by the Radiologist. Performs clinical breast examinations and post-biopsy visual examinations as requested.
What you will do
- Assess and diagnose patient and family needs in order to provide quality care to radiology patients.
- Demonstrates the skills and judgment necessary to implement plan of care, nursing intervention and procedures as necessary for the care of the patient.
- Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to ensure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team, to ensure total quality care.
- Complement imaging services by performing clinical examinations, nursing support.
- Communicates results of mammography examinations, educates, and coordinates additional appointments.
- Serve as breast cancer educator.
- Maintains current knowledge/certification/licensure. Pursues professional growth and development.
Minimum Education
- Associates Degree Nursing Required or
- Technical Diploma/Certificate Nursing
Minimum Work Experience
- 1-3 years nursing experience preferably within women’s health Required
Licenses and Certifications
- Registered Nurse Licensed State of Florida or eligible compact state Upon Hire Required
- BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association Upon Hire Required
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Must be able to multi task daily.
- Possesses knowledge of filing systems, telephone etiquette and customer service.
- Computer skills
