Summary : The RN - Nurse Manager I shall be primarily responsible for the organization and implementation of day-to-day unit operations. The Nurse Manager is also responsible for facilitating, coordinating, and evaluating unit activities for the provision of quality patient care within the framework of the mission, vision, and values of Baptist Health. This individual shall demonstrate knowledge and understanding of organizational skills and interpersonal skills. Additionally, the Nurse Manager shall demonstrate the consistent ability to act as a role model by providing direction in the application of the nursing process, quality/performance improvement standards, and organizational/departmental goals and objectives. As a member of the Nursing Service Leadership Team, the Nurse Manager will assist in the development of long and short term goals, objectives, policy development, and priority setting for the Nursing Department. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role. Education / Experience :Degree in Nursing, Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum 2 years staff nurse experience with progressive experience in nursing and nursing management required. License / Certification : Active RN license required, BLS required, Additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, etc) may be required depending upon area assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements : Position requires sitting for 20% of the workday and mobility 80% of the workday.
There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action.
Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 150 pounds.
There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person.
Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range.
Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Minimal noise levels.
Much exposure to computer work.
Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock.
Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks.
Some exposure to hazardous chemicals. Occasional exposure to radiation.
