Purpose of the role

BAO Systems is seeking an experienced Finance/Accounting Manager to join our growing finance team. The right person for this role enjoys a wide range of Financial Reporting and other accounting duties and has impeccable attention to detail. You must also have a demonstrated proficiency working with data and finance technology. In this highly visible role, you will primarily be responsible for managing financial reporting and budget analysis. You will leverage our financial systems to perform finance and accounting tasks in accordance with documented procedures and policies. The successful candidate will demonstrate outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills, an innovative approach to problem solving, and an unrelenting work ethic.

Core Job Responsibilities

• Prepare month-end close materials in accordance with GAAP and operational financial analysis requirements
• Drive forecasting, annual budgeting, and long-term planning models to assist in strategic decision-making.
• Complete monthly financial status reports that include analysis to brief Sr. Management and other departments within BAO.
• Lead creation and maintain dashboards to provide timely, actionable financial metrics for forecasting, planning, and performance management
• Analyze current indirect cost pools and provide strategic guidance on future indirect cost pools
• Provide financial analysis on proposal submission including maintaining cost rates to provide value to BAO and its clients
• Manage customer, vendor, project, and related records in accounting system
• Process accounting tasks including, revenue recognition, deferred revenue, and other accounting activities including preparation for audits and tax returns
• Support the CFO, Controller and senior leadership team on special projects and perform other duties as required
  
  

Requirements

Required skills/experience

• Meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills are critical
• Bachelor’s degree
• 10-12 years Financial Reporting , Financial Planning & Analysis and general accounting duties
• Advanced Excel skills, including ability to efficiently manipulate data
• Experience with multi-entity companies
• Government Contracting experience including indirect rate calculations
• Ability to work in a paperless environment with honed ability to manipulate and extract large volumes of data, moving from one system to another
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working remotely with global teams
• Experience with both Finance and Accounting responsibilities
• Experience with cloud-based corporate accounting software
• Experience with ERP Systems and Power BI.
• Experience with DCAA accounting
• Master’s degree or equivalent
