Banyan Treatment Centers is honored to expand our life-changing services to Mooresville, NC, and is seeking a Staff Nurse to provide direct nursing care within substance use treatment programs. The Staff Nurse supports patient safety, medication administration, nursing assessments, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Position Details
- Reporting To: Director of Nursing
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday, Thursday-Saturday, 7 PM - 7:30 AM
- Location: Mooresville, NC (On-site).
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care under the supervision of the medical provider in accordance with medical protocols and standards of practice.
- Complete comprehensive nursing assessments and required admission documentation within established timeframes.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and provide medication education as indicated.
- Assess patient medical needs, determine urgency, and initiate appropriate interventions, referrals, or emergency response as required.
- Monitor patients for psychiatric symptoms, medication effectiveness, and safety concerns, and report changes to the nursing leadership, provider, or treatment team as appropriate.
- Apply sound clinical judgment in crisis situations, including suicide risk assessment, de-escalation, and patient safety interventions.
- Accurately transcribe, document, and implement provider orders, including verbal orders when permitted.
- Collaborate with physicians, psychiatrists, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary team members to support integrated patient care.
- Communicate patient health concerns to nursing and clinical leadership and participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning.
- Maintain timely, accurate, and complete documentation in the electronic medical record in accordance with licensure, accreditation, and organizational standards.
- Ensure confidentiality of patient information and compliance with HIPAA, Joint Commission standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Support medication management and controlled substance processes in collaboration with Compliance and nursing leadership, as applicable.
Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience preferred, with experience in substance use disorder treatment and detox strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of nursing standards of care for patients with mental health conditions, substance use disorders, and co-occurring diagnoses.
- Strong clinical assessment, documentation, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain professionalism, objectivity, and composure in high-stress or emergency situations.
- Demonstrated understanding of patient confidentiality, ethical practice, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary treatment team.
- Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred.
