Payroll and Accounting Specialist

Banton Construction Company seeks to immediately hire an Accounting Assistant to join our team. This is a rare opening within our organization, and a position that offers tremendous growth potential for the right candidate.

We are seeking a highly motivated, business-minded professional who possesses a strong desire to embark on a long-term career path with an established general contracting firm.

This is a 40-hour per week, 100% in-person position, and the candidate will report to our main office location in North Haven, Connecticut.

The candidate will report directly to the firm’s Controller and will be responsible for completing the weekly payroll and associated activities for the firm utilizing Sage 300 software.

The position will also include assistance with many aspects of Banton’s accounting and financial matters.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) is required. Experience with Sage 300, Procore, and Prevailing Wage certified payroll reporting is preferred but not required. We will provide training and mentorship to support the candidate in their position.

The ideal candidate must be able to work independently, while communicating effectively with management, Human Resources, and a close-knit team of accounting and administrative assistants.

Salary is negotiable and based upon experience/qualifications. We also offer a competitive Benefits Package.
