POSITION SUMMARY Provides technical expertise and support for the Administrative Director, Anatomic Pathology in the areas of the Laboratory Information System (LIS), esoteric testing and departmental billing, continuous quality improvement, technical education of staff and regulatory compliance for all of Anatomic Pathology, which includes Cytology, Histology, Transcription and Flow Cytometry. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES LIS, HIS, specific departmental analytical instrumentation, basic support equipment, personal computer, telephone, fax, copy machine. Provides input to Supervisors, Managers or Administrative Directors in regards to technical performance of testing personnel. Assists other management personnel in implementation of new policies and procedures at various sites. Performs bench work in order to maintain competency in technical area. Maintains an awareness of and compliance with all safety regulations and ensures new procedures meet safety regulation requirements. Collects technical data for litigation or projects as needed. LIS, HIS, specific departmental analytical instrumentation, basic support equipment, personal computer, telephone, fax, copy machine. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must be certified as a technologist within their specialty. Must qualify as a General Supervisor as defined under CLIA '88. Must have at least four (4) years’ of experience in their technical specialty. Must have an excellent working knowledge of regulatory and accreditation requirements. A high degree of technical and decision making skills is required. Must demonstrate behaviors consistent with the values of Laboratory Sciences of Arizona.
