Position Summary

We’re looking for a hard-working individual who would like to join us in developing new product concepts within our Functional Safety group, as well as engineering, manufacturing, and customer support. This Electrical Engineer III position is a hands-on research and development role focusing on product design. You’ll be a contributing member in our collaborative environment while finding a good amount of autonomy here and a hard-working group that contributes to Banner’s ongoing success and continuing growth. In this position, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary and highly technical team, collaborating with peer engineers to prototype and develop cutting-edge functional safety products. You will play a key role in all stages of product development, from initial technology evaluation and prototype design to successful release of final product and addressing field issues if they arise.

This position is located at our corporate headquarters in Plymouth, MN and is a 5 day per week, in-office position.

What You’ll Be Doing

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working both independently and collaboratively, staying on top of tasks, and making a meaningful impact across teams and projects. Below are some key responsibilities of the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and modify analog and digital circuits for industrial safety products.
  • Serve as a project manager and overall technical lead on smaller projects.
  • Create electrical designs ensuring the products meet the intended requirements.
  • Manage product documentation including bill of materials (BOMs), design verification reports, and engineering change orders (ECOs).
  • Collaborate with optical, mechanical, software, and manufacturing engineers to provide globally competitive products.

Required

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in electrical design as a design lead
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
  • Effective working experience with analog / small signal and embedded systems design
  • Proficiency with relevant circuit design software tools including schematic capture, PCB layout, and SPICE / simulation tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with test & measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, function generators, spectrum analyzers, custom test platforms, etc.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively, work in a collaborative team environment, and take initiative on design choices
  • Ability to clearly and concisely convey ideas to others, both verbally and in written formats
  • Functional experience with an ERP system during development

Preferred

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task and thrive in a team environment
  • Experience working in industrial products industry
  • Familiarity with design for EMC best practices
  • Software programming expertise
  • Working understanding of microcontrollers / microprocessors
  • Team or Project leadership experience

    Base Pay Range: $109,341.00 - $158,331.00
