We’re looking for a proactive financial leader who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, building efficient processes, and providing meaningful financial insight that helps drive business decisions. As Controller, you’ll own the day-to-day accounting and finance function while partnering closely with executive leadership to support the continued growth and profitability of Banner Pest Services.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage Full-Cycle Accounting: Own the monthly close process, prepare accurate financial statements, and maintain the general ledger.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop annual budgets, maintain rolling forecasts, perform variance analysis, and monitor cash flow.
- Financial Reporting: Deliver timely financial reporting and provide actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Accounts Payable: Oversee vendor invoices, payment processing, expense tracking, and account reconciliations.
- Compliance & Audits: Coordinate with external CPA firms, manage tax filings, and oversee workers’ compensation and insurance audits.
- Pricing & Profitability Analysis: Evaluate pricing strategies, margin performance, and financial impact of new initiatives.
- Internal Controls: Maintain accounting systems, improve financial processes, and ensure strong internal controls as the company continues to grow.
- Asset Management: Oversee fixed assets, depreciation schedules, fleet and equipment tracking, and replacement planning.
Qualifications:
- 5-8 years of accounting or finance experience required.
- 2-3 years of experience independently managing core accounting functions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- CPA or CMA designation is a plus.
- Experience managing full-cycle accounting and month-end close.
- Strong proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel required.
- Experience within a field service, home services, construction, or similar industry preferred.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial leaders.
