Banner University Medical Group is our nonprofit faculty practice plan associated with the University of Arizona Colleges of Medicine in Phoenix and Tucson. Our 1,100-plus clinicians provide primary and specialty care to patients at highly ranked Banner - University Medical Centers and dozens of clinics while providing mentorship to more than 1,200 residents and fellows. Position Summary
This position, within a licensed behavioral health/physical health integrated outpatient care environment, identifies, educates and conducts initial screening for prospective enrollment in appropriate AHCCCS, Tobacco Tax and Sliding Fee Medical Assistance programs. Coordinates and monitors the enrollment process to include front and back office operations of enrollment and financial screenings for individuals requesting services.
Core Functions
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
Has familiarity with behavioral health community resources and is able to appropriately interact with individuals who have a range of mental disorders.
Employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital, BTMC Behavioral, and BUMG, BUMCT, or BUMCS in a Behavioral Health clinical setting that serves children must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. An Arizona Criminal History Affidavit must be signed upon hire.

Core Functions
- Answers, screens/forwards calls, provides information, and schedules appointments.
- Communicates and coordinates with the Crisis Response Center, medical providers, Behavioral Health Inpatient providers, law enforcement, courts, other Behavioral Health agencies, the RBHA, and other county, State, and applicable government agencies.
- Screens individuals requesting services for eligibility.Completes a Priority Population Screening tool for all persons requesting services.
- Maintains appropriate intake documentation requirements in accordance with agency and funding source requirements.
- Interviews clients for potential financial eligibility for multiple counties, State and Federal medical assistance programs to determine residency, household composition, income, assets and medical expenses such as AHCCCS, Food stamps, cash assistance, social security welfare and disability.
- Requests, researches, reviews and verifies personal documents and files to verify eligibility determination for relevant assistance.
- Verifies hospital admissions/discharges daily, transmits/receives relevant records, to ensure continuity of care.
- Completes all training required by licensing, agency, and funding source or as requested by supervisor and participates in individual and team clinical supervision.
- Has freedom to determine how best to accomplish functions within established procedures and best practices.
