The Role:
We are hiring a Sourcing Analyst to join our San Francisco team. This is a front-line role in our investment process: you will identify and build relationships with founders and executives at exceptional vertical software companies that may become future Banneker portfolio companies.
You'll develop deep familiarity with end markets, including healthcare, government, construction, industrials, and critical infrastructure, and build a genuine understanding of how mission-critical software businesses operate and scale. The work combines deep research with authentic relationship-building, and requires someone who is as comfortable synthesizing a market thesis as they are reaching out to a CEO.
This is an ideal role for an early-career professional who wants to develop a strong foundation in software investing and build lasting relationships across the industry.
What You’ll Do:
- Source and engage founders and executives at B2B vertical software companies through personalized outreach
- Map markets and conduct proprietary research across targeted verticals
- Develop and refine an investment thesis within specific software end markets
- Prepare research briefs and industry analyses to support the investment team
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with operators, advisors, and industry participants
- Support conference and industry event coverage
- Collaborate with the investment team on evaluating opportunities and tracking market trends
What We’re Looking For:
- 1-2 years of experience in private equity, equity research, consulting, B2B software sales, or a related analytical or relationship-driven role
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; you'll be engaging with founders and senior executives regularly
- Intellectual curiosity and a genuine desire to understand how businesses work
- Comfort with proactive outreach and persistence in relationship-building
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Professional maturity and a low-ego, team-first approach
- Bachelor's degree required

Compensation & Benefits:
Banneker offers a competitive compensation package including base salary, performance bonus, and comprehensive benefits. As of the date of this posting, Banneker Partners, LLC reasonably expects to pay $85,000-100,000 for the position of Sourcing Analyst.
