Job Overview
In the Retail/Mortgage Processing Specialist role you'll play an important role in helping clients achieve their financial and homeownership goals. In this position, you'll manage the mortgage and retail loan process from application through closing, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and an exceptional customer experience every step of the way. Working closely with clients, lenders, and internal partners, you'll help deliver timely, efficient service while supporting the bank's commitment to relationship-based banking.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and process consumer and residential loan documentation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate loan closings by preparing required documents, obtaining necessary signatures, verifying supporting documentation, and facilitating timely loan funding.
- Maintain organized and complete loan files throughout the loan lifecycle, including quality control reviews, follow-up on outstanding documentation, and ongoing file maintenance.
- Order, review, and track third-party documentation required for loan processing, including appraisals, title work, flood determinations, insurance, and other supporting verifications.
- Monitor collateral documentation and lien perfection activities, ensuring titles, mortgages, and security interests are properly recorded, received, and maintained.
- Process loan servicing activities, including modifications, extensions, paid loan documentation, lien releases, and annual reviews for in-house real estate loans.
- Collaborate with lenders, retail staff, and clients to resolve documentation issues, answer questions, and provide a seamless lending experience from application through loan maintenance.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years proven experience in loan origination or mortgage processing within the financial industry.
- Knowledge of federal housing programs such as FHA loans, VA loans, and conventional mortgages
- Strong understanding of compliance requirements related to mortgage and consumer lending.
Expected Salary: Hourly rate starting at $23, depending on experience. Compensation will be commensurate with the selected candidate's qualifications, experience, and demonstrated abilities.
