The Role
As a Business Development Officer, you will utilize a consultative sales process to analyze cash flows, structure client-specific cash management solutions, and formulate winning presentation strategies. You will develop new business and enhance existing relationships by meeting the product and service needs of our clients and prospects, ultimately helping to achieve goals and increase fee income.
What You’ll Do
- Drive Growth & Marketing: Maintain an active, volume-driven calling effort to develop new business. Proactively cross-sell and refer appropriate Bank products, including Remote Deposit, Merchant Services, Business Banking, and Personal Banking.
- Consultative Selling: Advise clients and prospects on cash management, product selection, and account structuring. Prepare and present professionally written, well-articulated proposals.
- Community Leadership: Be a strong community partner by getting involved in local activities to increase new business opportunities. Respond to requests for proposals (RFPs) and formulate strategies to win bids in partnership with the Market President.
- Relationship Management: Maintain a scheduled calling program for existing clients to ensure high-quality servicing. Partner with internal teams (like BSM and Marketing) to formulate client-specific strategies and make quality referrals across business lines.
- Track Success: Utilize our CRM platform to manage relationships, track activities, and monitor progress toward your annual business development goals.
What You Bring
- Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of directly applicable experience, including direct customer contact and demonstrated sales and marketing skills.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with cash management and electronic banking systems.
- Education: College degree or internationally comparable equivalent (equivalent work experience and/or Certified Cash Manager (CCM) designation is also considered).
- Interpersonal Skills: Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential. You must be able to communicate clearly, deliver information logically, and handle numerous personalities with the highest level of customer service and discretion.
- Work Ethic: Ability to work independently with limited supervision, perform basic financial calculations accurately, and maintain composure under the stress of deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
