At BankSouth Mortgage, we pride ourselves on providing exceptional mortgage services that empower individuals and families to achieve their homeownership dreams. As we continue to grow, we’re seeking a dynamic and experienced Mortgage Processing Manager to lead our mortgage processing team and ensure seamless operations, compliance, and customer satisfaction. This role has become available due to an exciting internal promotion within our compliance team, highlighting our commitment to career growth and development.

Essential Functions

• Utilize knowledge of mortgage loan products, mortgage loan underwriting, internal and regulatory guidelines to ensure accurate, timely processing of mortgage loans
• Act as Processing Manager and oversee work and manage productivity of processing and hybrid team members in our footprint
• Collaborate with Production, LOA, Disclosure Review, Underwriting, Closing and Post-Closing Leadership to ensure quality files are being submitted by Processors
• Manage clear to close (CTC) 2 days prior, ensuring submission to underwriting is within the service level agreement (SLA) timeline, managing closing disclosure (CD) timelines, and ensuring accurate change in circumstance (CIC) submissions
• Identify and analyze trends for training opportunities and make recommendations to manager and training department and/or individually train direct reports as needed
• Onboard new processors to initiate them to BankSouth policies, procedures and culture
• Monitor and promote team quality, accuracy and efficiency through coaching and mentoring
• Load balance within the branches and coordinate with manager to load balance company wide as needed
• Collect, review, and approve timesheets for accuracy and correctness
• Coordinate processor and hybrids time away from work with other branch personnel manager(s) to maintain adequate coverage for all locations
• Provide input regarding team members performance on an ongoing basis and complete semi-annual performance reviews
• 100% processing adoption of all technologies, including but not limited to Candor and our ReadyLoan portal for customer communication and documentation requests
• Manage Prior-to-Funding (PTF) and Prior-to-Purchase (PTP) conditions
• Manage projects to implement and improve processing and related functions
• Manage and implement any innovation projects including but not limited to Candor or other underwriting tools, and any additional verification products that require adoption
• Travel to all of the BankSouth Mortgage offices in our footprint according to the schedule above, hotel and mileage will be reimbursed
• Hold monthly meetings for all Processors and Hybrids
• Submit or clear loans (only as needed)
• Act as backup for the Loan Officer Assistant Manager (only as needed)

Compliance

• Responsible for learning, understanding and practicing required fraud prevention practice, BSA and OFAC compliance requirements.
• Ensure that BankSouth Mortgage adheres to all applicable federal and state regulations
• Maintain confidentiality of all customer files & associated information
• Assist examiners and auditors by providing required documentation
• Correct exceptions to issues found by examiners and auditors
• Attend monthly QC meetings and provide action plans as needed to overcome errors (virtual, phone or in-person) 

Committees

• Quality Control – review pre-funding and post-closing findings and reviews the causes for defects. Propose and implement actions plans to improve quality of loan files, attend monthly QC meetings and offer collaboration with other departments to address trends in defects.
• Compliance – Attend monthly meetings and review the compliance reporting to better understand how processing can affect the trends, if any that are presented.

• Knowledge of underwriting, mortgage processing, closing and post-closing processes
• Competency in application of BankSouth, secondary market and regulatory guidelines and compliance regulations
• Ability to accurately apply established BankSouth Mortgage lending guidelines
• Time management skills to properly establish priorities and manage workload accurately and efficiently
• Self-motivated, capable of understanding and executing plans to achieve desired goals
• Teaching/mentoring processors including deficiency identification & skill enhancement
• Ability to work with operations management and sales teams to ensure sound lending policies are followed
• Above average interpersonal and innovative skills
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally to respond to inquiries from partners, borrowers, investors and other team members
• Ability to gather data, weigh all factors and make informed decision under pressure
• Analysis skills with solid math and excel capabilities
• High school diploma, degree preferred
• Minimum eight (8) years of progressively more responsibility, comprehensive mortgage processing experience of all loan types (FHA/VA/USDA/GA Dream/Conventional/Jumbo/203k)
• Supervisory experience managing more than 10 people, experience in conflict resolution, managing variety of personalities and managing fully remote, hybrid and in-office employees
