We are seeking a highly motivated and creative script writer to write compelling scripts for our educational YouTube series (https://www.youtube.com/@bankspower), including Speed School, Fact Check, and Entry Level as well as other videos including product launches. To succeed in this role, you must have outstanding scriptwriting skills and a solid understanding of automotive mechanics. Main Responsibilities

  • Research topics using internal and external sources.
  • Interview production and engineering personnel and read journals, reports, and other material to become familiar with product technologies and production methods.
  • Study CAD files, performance charts, drawings, parts lists, specifications, mockups, and product samples to better understand in-house designed products to be included in videos.
  • Pitch story ideas and collaborate with Marketing Director and Chief Engineer on story development.
  • Create engaging scripts and storyboards to ensure entertaining storytelling using dialog and imagery.
  • Adapt scripts based on feedback and project needs.
  • Discuss video production at various stages of completion. Revise and edit scripts to meet quality standards and deadlines.
  • Work with editors to present short- and long-form videos for various media.
  • Select photographs, drawings, diagrams, charts, and animations to illustrate material when needed.
  • Help maintain a shared calendar with current and future projects to track progress and completion of projects.
  • Write articles and public relations releases when needed.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, storytelling techniques and formats across social media platforms.
  • Other duties assigned by manager.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of proven experience creating impactful published articles, news stories, features, video scripts, etc. Exceptional storytelling and script-writing skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Familiarity with the formats, trends, production, and animation styles prevalent on YouTube. Experience developing YouTube/digital video content preferred.
  • Technically inclined, attention to technical detail, understand the lingo mechanics speak. Knowledge of the automotive performance aftermarket is a valuable asset.
  • Strong understanding of marketing, public relations, consumer trends and habits. Awareness of pop culture, car culture, and current trends in automotive.
  • Understanding YouTube and Facebook analytics is preferred.
  • Understanding YouTube thumbnail creation and best practices preferred.
  • Experience editing videos using video editing software such as Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator is preferred.
  • Experience editing images, alter video content, and make color corrections and enhancements is preferred
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Hourly pay

$44—$49 USD

Actual pay offered to candidates will depend on several factors, including but not limited to, relevant candidates’ experience, education, and specific knowledge, skills, and abilities.
