General Position Scope:
The Mortgage Accounting Coordinator is responsible for the accounting functions as it relates to the acquisition, processing, closing and purchasing of mortgage loans, including reconciling mortgage accounting ledgers for financial accounting.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for reviewing and reconciling the RMHS general ledgers daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly, and tracking the status on outstanding balances.
• Responsible to process daily purchase advices from each investor, complete loan disbursements, reconcile all items to the general ledger, and generate payment letters to borrowers.
• Corresponds with investor contacts if any accounting discrepancy is found during reconciliation.
• Reconciles the RMC bank statement and check inventory monthly, processes miscellaneous wires, and issues checks for various purposes.
• Responsible for managing miscellaneous fund disbursements and ensuring accurate general ledger reconciliation.
• Assists Mortgage Servicing and Loan Operations with general ledger reconciliation of repurchased loans.
• Works interdepartmentally with Mortgage Servicing and other mortgage departments on payoff reconciliations and various assigned tasks.
• Processes and tracks monthly payment letters to borrowers while loan is awaiting purchase on the secondary market.
• Collaborates with the Mortgage Loan Administration Manager and Secondary Marketing Manager to fulfill audit requests and address bank accounting-related questions.
• Responsible for updating and maintaining electronic storage requirements within the mortgage LOS and bank electronic storage to ensure accurate document management and regulatory compliance.
• Provide backup support for the Mortgage Office Administrator as needed to maintain departmental operations during periods of absence.
• Maintain a thorough knowledge of Bank products, services, policies, procedures and appropriate regulatory issues as related to daily job functions including but not limited to: Bank Secrecy Act; Privacy Act; Fair Lending Act; Regulation E; etc. Complete required compliance training and adhere to the Bank’s standard of conduct.
• Participation in the bank’s High-Performance Rewards Connections program.
• Make referrals to the Mortgage Center and Wealth Management.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline required, or a minimum of 4 years of professional office experience with at least one of those 4 years having direct accounting and/or bookkeeping experience.
• Proficient computer experience with Microsoft Office Suite, to include Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail oriented with excellent clerical and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in multiple software platforms.
• Work outside of regular business hours, as deemed necessary.
