What are the responsibilities and job description for the Armed Security - 2nd Shift 2:00pm-10:00pm position at Banknote Corp of America?
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
- Protect company properties, employees, and assets by patrolling buildings and grounds. Provide protective escorts when needed or upon request. Provide traffic control and parking enforcement when necessary.
- Monitor security camera systems, the access control system and other related alarm/security or fire safety equipment.
- Respond to safety and security calls.
- Monitor compliance of safety and security regulations as outlined by OSHA, State and Federal guidelines. Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
- Ability to react to emergency situations in a calm professional manner.
- Ability to work with various types of safety and security electronic equipment, and being comfortable with operating various types of computer software.
- Ability to read a computer screen, operate a computer terminal, various electronic security equipment, two-way radio system and telephone.
- Must be able to type a minimum of 30 words per minute.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in written form.
- Ability to patrol buildings, garages, and surface areas and restrain or chase subjects if necessary.
- Ability to handle confidential information in a sensitive manner.
- Ability to work varied shifts and overtime as required.
- Ability to be flexible and work in a continuously changing environment.
- Ability to walk, stand, bend or reach 12 hours
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to adhere to stringent safety rules
Required Experience
- One year of security or equivalent experience required, including 6 months as an armed officer.
- At least 21 years of age required.
- CPR and First Aid certifications are preferred.
- High School diploma is required and 2 years of college preferred.
- Military or Law Enforcement preferred but not required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic understanding of access control, CCTV, firefighting equipment and first aid equipment required.
- Work Schedule:
- Full-time, must have availability to work nights and weekends
