JOB DESCRIPTION
Commercial Portfolio Assistant – Responsible for, but not limited to, the loan application process, updating financial requests, and audit management.
Department: Commercial Lending
Reports to: SVP & Chief Lending Officer
Supervises: None
Hours: Full-Time
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or equivalent required, bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration preferred.
- 3-5 years of related experience (banking, lending, finance) is preferred.
- Willingness and ability to learn the processes of the Commercial Loan Department.
- Knowledge of regulations and processes for account opening, entity structures, loan processing practices and procedures, and compliance is a plus.
- Successful completion of in-house training.
- Effective interpersonal, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent customer service skills required.
- Strong ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and multitask is essential.
- Must be organized, accurate, and detail oriented.
- Computer skills, and the ability to operate standard office equipment.
SPECIFIC JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Manages any escalated issues that arise.
- Coordinates and manages commercial audits and regulatory exams.
- Completes monthly & quarterly reporting.
- Portfolio management; including managing the financial tickler process, obtaining updated financials, and working with the Credit Analyst on the loan review process.
- Manages loan application process for lending officers including following up with customer for additional information needed.
- Review closing documents from attorneys.
- Oversees the commercial loan approval process including coordinating appraisals and attorneys for loan closings.
- Oversees closing documentation and funding during loan closing process.
- Administrative responsibilities for Credit Quest & Laser Pro.
- Customer Support for Commercial Department.
- Notary services (BankGloucester will assist in obtaining Notary, if necessary).
- Complete new hire and quarterly BVS compliance training.
- All other duties as assigned.
