The Universal Banker provides prompt, accurate, and professional service across a broad range of retail banking functions. This role supports customers with teller transactions, account opening, product and service questions, and other branch needs. The successful candidate is organized, dependable, customer-focused, and able to move comfortably between teller and customer-service responsibilities while maintaining confidentiality and regulatory compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Process routine teller transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, payments, check cashing, and other customer requests.

· Sell cashier’s checks, gift cards, and other bank products or instruments in accordance with established procedures.

· Balance the teller drawer and assist with balancing ATMs, the vault, and other cash-related functions.

· Prepare change orders and support branch cash needs.

· Assist customers with safe deposit box access in accordance with bank procedures.

· Open and maintain consumer and business deposit accounts, including estate, trust, fiduciary, and IRA accounts, as authorized and trained.

· Explain bank products, services, fees, and digital banking options; identify customer needs and make appropriate referrals.

· Assist customers through online account-opening, chat, and other digital service channels.

· Answer telephone calls, greet customers, and respond to questions in a courteous and professional manner.

· Complete required documentation and reports accurately, including Currency Transaction Reports, and follow established procedures for identifying and escalating unusual or suspicious activity.

· Maintain current knowledge of applicable bank policies, procedures, products, services, and federal and state banking regulations.

· Protect customer information and maintain confidentiality at all times.

· Perform clerical, scheduling, and other branch-support duties as assigned.

· Participate in required training and continuing education.

· Travel between Bank of Zachary branches as business needs require.

Required Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· At least two years of banking experience in a teller, customer service representative, or similar retail banking role.

· Demonstrated cash-handling accuracy and attention to detail.

· Strong customer-service, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively as part of a team.

· Ability to learn and operate bank systems, teller terminals, cash dispensers, online deposit platforms, chat systems, and standard computer applications.

Preferred Qualifications

· Prior lending knowledge or experience.

Physical Requirements

The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. The role may require standing or sitting for extended periods and occasional bending, stooping, squatting, and reaching.
