What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-time Teller position at Bank of the Valley?

We are looking for a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Part-Time Teller to join the Schuyler branch of Bank of the Valley. This position is an important part of creating a welcoming banking experience and building great relationships with our customers. We are flexible on starting time for this role, but you need to be able to work until 5:30pm Monday through Friday with a rotating Saturday morning. The Teller will assist customers with financial transactions including paying out and receiving cash, opening and closing accounts and issuing other negotiable instruments. This role will answer customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and service ATMs.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

· Assist customers with daily banking transactions including cashing checks, deposits, transferring funds, non-negotiable instruments and loan payments.

· Balance cash drawer on a daily basis and keep offages to a minimum.

· Balance the vault as assigned.

· Understand and comply with banking regulations by following bank policies and procedures.

· Cross sell accounts and products to ensure customer’s needs are met.

· Process check orders.

· File Currency Transaction Reports when needed.

· Balance, maintain and supply ATMs.

· Process Night Depository transactions.

· Assist customers to research and resolve customer issues.

· Answer customer inquiries concerning accounts, overdrafts, fees, etc.

· Accept Stop Payment requests.

· Complete all other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

· Excellent verbal, written and phone communication skills.

· Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

· Must be able to multi-task and organize priorities.

· Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

· Must maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Education and Experience

· Previous cash handling experience is a plus.

· Previous customer service experience is a plus.
