BFC a local community bank in Washington, MO is seeking a skilled Compliance Specialist. In this role, you are responsible for supporting and helping maintain an effective compliance program to ensure the Bank operates in accordance with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations. This position involves compliance for deposit and lending operations.
This is a full time position with competitive salary and benefits.
EXPECTATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with the monitoring of federal and state regulatory changes and update internal policies accordingly.
- Assigned to conduct periodic reviews of lending, deposit, and operations activities to ensure compliance
- Assist with preparing for internal and external compliance audits and examinations.
- Assist with compliance testing and document findings, trends, and corrective actions.
- Provide staff training on regulatory requirements and policy updates.
- Review marketing materials, disclosures, and customer communications for regulatory accuracy.
- Support compliance incident investigations and track resolution.
- Maintain organized compliance records, reporting logs, and documentation.
- Support BSA / AML Activities
- Assist with handling Regulation E Disputes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience
- 5 years related experience and/or training or 10 or more years of banking experience is preferred
- Professional certifications (e.g., CRCM) preferred or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe
- Broad knowledge of regulatory banking requirements including, but not limited to, Regulations B, E, O, Z, CC and DD is preferred
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret government regulation and trade journals. Must be able to respond to common inquiries from regulatory agencies, courts and outside consultants
- Strong decision making, analytical and investigative abilities with attention to detail and accuracy
