Job Description:

Responsible for Commercial Banking for a geographic area. Manages Growth Group Client Managers and reports to a Commercial Banking Executive.​

A great opportunity to join Bank of America’s Global Commercial Banking, the leading commercial financial services organization in the United States.  Bank of America is seeking a Global Commercial Banking Market Executive (ME) to maintain and grow our industry leading market share. The Middle Market segment of the Global Commercial Bank serves public and private companies with annual revenues of $50 million to $2 billion and is responsible for partnering and delivering all products and services to our those clients including, Lending, Leasing, Global Treasury services, Capital Markets and Merchant services.

The Market Executive (ME) functions as the market leader with responsibility for revenue and profitability, developing and executing the market and client strategy, client satisfaction, coaching and inspecting the Client Management Process, and hiring and developing top talent. The majority of the ME's time is divided among three areas: coaching and developing client managers (RMs) and client teams; client meetings and events; developing and executing the market and client strategy to drive growth; and working in collaboration with the market leadership team. 

This opening is to join our Global Commercial Banking (GCB) Healthcare, Technology & Sponsors (HTS) Team focusing on the Technology industry.    
GCB provides a wide range of solutions to Technology and Emerging Growth companies including Global Treasury Services, Credit, Risk Management (FX & Derivatives), Capital Raising & Advisory Services, Wealth Management and Financial Life Benefits.
 

Scope of Responsibilities

  • Reports to the Regional Executive
  • Manages a team of Relationship Managers and Commercial Associates as well as coordinates all client activity across the bank (ie, Capital Markets, Global Treasury, etc)
  • Is responsible for strategically allocating resources in the market to deliver growth and outpace all competitors
  • Has direct accountability for the allocation of Relationship Managers and collaborates with the market leadership team to determine the optimal allocation of credit products, capital markets, treasury solutions, and sales support resources to capitalize on the market opportunity
  • Manages the team's pipeline of deals and facilitates hand-offs between members of the client teams
  • Continually enhances team performance through effective recruiting, coaching, development, and performance management activities
  • Is an integral member of the leadership team and develops strong relationships with the leaders of the business and key support partners and other MEs
  • At times, may lead or participate in enterprise projects or initiatives with Management Operating Committee or Board level visibility
  • Is also expected to be the “face of the bank" to the business community within their market

  • Growth in business as measured by # of clients, products per relationship, loan balances, deposit balances, core and investment banking revenue

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Leadership Characteristics:

  • Undergraduate degree required:   Majors in business, finance or economics preferred, but relevant coursework and/or financial services experience acceptable.
  • 15 – 20   years-experience in Commercial Lending, with some Financial Institutions sector knowledge a plus.
  • Proficiency in Capital Structure and Investment Banking products.
  • Capable of organizing, facilitating, leading and negotiating with team of bank associates to solve client problems.
  • Strong understanding of sales organizations and sales processes.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative partnerships across organizational boundaries.
  • Demonstrates strong teaming behavior that creates win-win solutions that build trust.

  • Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7, 63 & 24 (Must obtain SIE, series 7 & 63 license within 180 days of start date. Must obtain series 24 within one year of start date)
