The Credit Analyst is responsible for gathering and analyzing credit information on current and potential borrowers, determining the advisability of granting credit for diversified types of loans, and assisting loan officers in writing the loan request.
Responsibilities and duties:
· Determine credit worthiness of applicants
· Designate degree of risk involved in extending credit by performing cash flow analysis of businesses
· Respond to inquiries from lenders
· Assist with company audits
· Complete a thorough, in-depth analysis of new credit requests, credit change requests, renewals and annual relationship reviews. Recommend risk rating changes when analysis merits.
· Deliver meaningful, detailed credit analysis while providing efficient, timely service to loan officers.
· Prepare spreadsheets, reports, summaries and opinions for lenders on new, renewal and existing loans.
· Maintain a good working knowledge of the Bank’s lending policies and procedures.
· Review loan files as needed to ensure quality, consistency and compliance with lending guidelines.
· Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
Qualifications and skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
- 2 years’ experience as a Credit or Financial Analyst preferred
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- Able to research and evaluate data to make informed decisions and solve problems
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Sense of discretion and willingness to maintain strict confidentiality of pertinent and sensitive information
- Must be able to understand financial data (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, financial ratios, etc.) and apply those skills as they pertain to the loan underwriting process.
- Must be organized, efficient and able to work independently or with a team and be detail oriented in order to generate accurate reports.
