What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recovery Emergency Response Coach position at Bangor Area Recovery Network?
Supervised By: Direct Supervision by BARN Recovery Coach Coordinator
Hours: 30 Hours per week
Basic Purpose: To provide recovery coaching services and program support for the BARN Recovery Emergency Response Initiative.
Qualifications:
- All qualifications being equal, preference is given to persons in long-term recovery.
- A valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
- Valid CCAR Recovery Coach award or willingness to obtain same.
- Valid CCAR Ethical Considerations award or willingness to obtain same.
- Willingness to obtain State Recovery Coach registration within 90 days of hire and obtain State certification with 2 years of hire.
- Personal characteristics of maturity and professionalism with a sincere desire to work with recovering individuals and the recovery community.
- An appreciation and affinity for those people in addiction recovery as well as an understanding of the recovery community.
- Possess and exercise good public relation skills.
- Adapts to changing conditions efficiently and effectively.
- Demonstrates ability to write clear and concise notes, organize and prioritize time, effectively communicate, and work as a team member.
- Demonstrates interactive communication skills that afford relationship development.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, email, and internet use or willingness to learn.
- Strong demonstrated written and verbal skills.
Key Result Areas:
- Respond to requests and provide one-on-one recovery coaching and triage coaching to individuals at St. Joseph Hospital Emergency Department and in-patient floors.
- Provide telephone-based support services and brief interactions with individuals engaged with the program.
- Engage individuals to provide resource brokerage and community linkages.
- Participate in outreach and educational activities with hospital staff.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide recovery coaching services to individuals
- Document activities and outcomes consistent with program requirements
- Establish and maintain relationships with community resources and partners
- Maintain knowledge of community resources
- Conduct requested outreach services within the community
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
