Description
General Description
Supports the distribution process by placing inventory products into appropriate sleeves, packaging the products, and preparing orders for shipping.
Essential Functions
1. Reading customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped.
2. Moving materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.
3. Putting products in the appropriate sleeving.
4. Sorting and placing materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
5. Filling requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to shipping or to designated route driver storage area.
6. Assembling customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or relocating orders to a holding area or shipping department.
7. Inspecting all products for obvious defects and immediately report a defect to the Quality Control Team.
8. Marking materials with identifying information using appropriate method.
9. Recording amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer program.
10. Assisting in counting of physical inventory.
11. Weighing and counting items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
12. Organizing warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.
13. Other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
Education/Experience Required
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
General Qualifications
1. Legally eligible to work in the United States.
2. Must be able to read and speak the English language well enough to communicate, respond to questions, and understand directions, traffic signs, signals, and training.
3. Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure.
Physical / Mental Requirements / Working Conditions
1. Duties performed in semi-climate-controlled environment.
2. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and stoop.
3. Must be able to use hands, wrists, and fingers.
