The Junior Staff Accountant plays an integral role within the Finance team. They will be primarily responsible for recording, analyzing, and reporting on Inbound Royalty contracts and statements, with additional responsibility for filing Sales Tax returns. To be successful, they will be a self-starter with impeccable attention to detail and a comfort level with large data sets manipulation. They should possess strong financial savvy, a high aptitude for technology and financial systems, and a strong desire and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
$70,720.00 – $90,355.65
Actual base salary will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, but not limited to, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs. The salary range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees and it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with set-up and maintenance of royalty contracts in Fadel (royalty software), recording of terms, conditions, minimum guarantees, royalty rates, and contract amendments
- Collaborate with IP Licensing, Legal, Finance, and AR teams to review and interpret IP contracts
- Track and upload in-bound royalty statements, help to review them for accuracy and contract compliance, coordinate SKU creation with licensees and IP Licensing department
- Provide support managing IP AR and DSO, tracking MG recoupment and milestone billings
- Participate in the monthly, quarterly and year-end close processes
- Support monthly IP forecasting and annual planning process by providing analysis and ensuring accurate record keeping of royalties
- Prepare and maintain assigned audit schedules
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal practices, and applicable regulations
- Assist with preparation, review, and filing of state and local sales/use tax returns in Avalara
- Handle notices and communications from tax authorities
- Perform other accounting and sales tax related responsibilities as assigned
- BS in Accounting/Finance or equivalent work experience
- 2 years in Accounting, experience with Sales Tax Reporting and Inbound Royalty preferred.
- Comfortable working with applications, data, and other technical teams preferred
- Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Highly detail-oriented and able to multitask; ability to meet deadlines and competing priorities
