What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hydroelectric Plant Maintenance position at Bancroft Contracting Corporation?
The Hydroelectric Plant Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Hydroelectric Power Plant equipment for which they have qualified with the objective of maximizing the facility’s power production.
The position requires heavy physical work under all environmental conditions, including indoor and outdoor activities such as plant readings, safety walks, scheduled maintenance activities, and other directed tasks, as assigned. Good physical conditioning is important to success in the position. Familiarity with the use of common hand and power tools is a pre-requisite. The position requires either a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle, or a practical alternative plan for getting to the jobsite. This position reports to the Hydroelectric Operations Supervisor.
The typical work schedule for this position is Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. In addition, a Hydroelectric Plant Operator will have alternating on-call responsibilities to respond to facility issues or irregularities, as well as alternating weekend coverage. However, based upon the demands of production hours may change based upon seasons.
