Banco Pichincha Miami Agency is seeking an experienced Senior Credit Analyst to join our Credit team. This role is primarily focused on Commercial & Industrial (C&I) credit analysis and requires a strong background in analyzing operating companies, financial statements, cash flow, financial trends, and repayment capacity.
The Senior Credit Analyst will independently evaluate commercial credit requests, identify key risks, and prepare comprehensive credit analyses and recommendations. The position provides exposure to a diverse commercial portfolio, including C&I borrowers and commercial real estate, with significant lending activity connected to Ecuador.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive credit analysis of commercial borrowers, with a primary focus on C&I and operating companies.
- Analyze financial statements, cash flow, financial ratios, historical performance, and trends to assess creditworthiness and repayment capacity.
- Evaluate credit requests and identify key financial, business, industry, and transaction risks.
- Prepare clear and comprehensive written credit analyses and recommendations for management and credit approval.
- Perform comparative and trend analysis across multiple reporting periods.
- Independently manage assigned credit analyses from initial review through completion, maintaining accuracy and established deadlines.
- Utilize Excel and established credit-analysis systems, models, and templates.
- Collaborate with Credit, Relationship Management, and other stakeholders throughout the credit review and approval process.
- Support ongoing monitoring and review of the commercial credit portfolio.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of commercial credit analysis and/or underwriting experience within a banking or regulated financial institution.
- Demonstrated experience analyzing Commercial & Industrial (C&I) borrowers and operating companies.
- Strong financial statement, cash-flow, ratio, and trend-analysis skills.
- Strong credit judgment with the ability to assess repayment capacity and identify key credit risks.
- Experience preparing comprehensive written credit analyses and recommendations.
- Exposure to international credit analysis and/or underwriting.
- Strong Excel skills and proficiency with financial and credit-analysis tools.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and consistently produce accurate and complete work with limited supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with diversified commercial loan portfolios.
- Commercial real estate credit-analysis experience.
- International or cross-border lending exposure is a plus but not required.
