What are the responsibilities and job description for the Billing Specialist position at Bancker Construction Corp.?
Heavy civil/utility construction contractor located in western Suffolk County is seeking an experienced full-time Billing Specialist. We are looking for a detail-oriented, positive individual who thrives working in a team setting. Responsibilities will include:
- Prepare and manage contract based billings on AIA requisitions to ensure accurate billing and timely collection of receivables.
- Prepare unit price and T&M billings in accordance with master service agreements.
- Comply with customer requirements for invoice submission, i.e. certified payrolls, lien waivers, insurance certificates, etc.
- Reconcile contracts and change orders to billed amounts.
- Evaluate job cost and payroll reports to assess discrepancies and missed billing opportunities on T&M projects.
- Interface with project management and clients on all aspects of project billing.
- Investigate and resolve customer queries.
- Process billing adjustments, as needed.
- Prepare all documents for project closeouts.
- Assist in identifying and implementing operational and financial process improvements.
Candidates must have 3 years of relevant experience, possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to work in a fast paced, multiple company environment. Experience in construction industry preferred. Knowledge of Sage (Timberline) is a plus, but is not required.
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience with AIA Billing and Certified Payroll.
- Ability to communicate effectively with Supervisors and Project staff to resolve issues.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Must be positive, professional and dependable.
Required Software Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate management software a
Salary commensurate with experience (60k – 80k). In addition, we offer an excellent benefits package that includes comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and a 401(k) plan.
