Estimator — Commercial Construction
Arlington Heights 80,000-100,000 (based on experience) | Full-time
Bancare has been building (literally) since 1972 — today we run two divisions covering commercial construction and bank equipment/security. We're growing our estimating team and looking for someone who wants real ownership over the numbers behind ground-up and tenant improvement projects, not just data entry into a template.
What you'll do
- Build accurate, competitive estimates for commercial construction projects — from drawing review through final bid
- Run quantity take-offs and pricing for labor, materials, equipment, and subs
- Solicit, compare, and level subcontractor and vendor bids
- Spot scope gaps, risks, and value-engineering opportunities before they become problems
- Sit in on pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations as part of the preconstruction team
- Hand off clean, complete bid packages to Project Management
- Mentor Junior Estimators as you grow into the role
What you need
- 2 years of commercial construction experience, including ground-up estimating, preconstruction, or related project work
- Comfortable reading construction drawings and specs
- Solid Excel/Microsoft Office skills
Nice to have (not required)
- Bachelor's in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
- Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, OpenSpace, or similar
- Exposure to design-build, CM, negotiated, or hard-bid delivery
