Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to prevent breakdowns and ensure safety compliance.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment issues using schematics, electrical diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Operate and calibrate programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to support manufacturing processes.
- Conduct welding repairs and mechanical adjustments on machinery as needed.
- Read and interpret schematics, electrical diagrams, and technical documentation to diagnose problems accurately.
- Utilize tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic equipment to test electrical circuits and components.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Lead facilities maintenance projects including residential painting, equipment upgrades, or structural repairs.
- Supervise junior technicians or contractors during maintenance tasks, ensuring safety standards are met.
- Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations at all times.
Experience
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance within manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience; familiarity with schematics is essential.
- Hands-on welding skills for repair and fabrication tasks.
- Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) in an industrial setting.
- Ability to read technical diagrams, schematics, and blueprints confidently.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience is highly desirable.
- Customer service skills for interacting effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
- Knowledge of CMMS software for maintenance tracking and reporting.
- Familiarity with residential painting techniques is a plus but not required.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters for electrical troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication skills in English to document procedures clearly and collaborate with team members effectively.
