Market Representative – Bamford Bakeshop

Location: Beaverton, OR (Home base)

Compensation: $17–$20/hour (DOE)

Hours: Part-time to full-time, seasonal

Bamford Bakeshop is a locally owned bakery based in Beaverton, Oregon. We specialize in creating high-quality pastries, breads, and desserts for our community. From farmers markets to holiday events, our goal is to share homemade, memorable baked goods with customers across the region.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Market Representative to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is self-motivated, dependable, and enjoys engaging with customers. Market Representatives are the face of Bamford Bakeshop at farmers markets and seasonal events. You'll be responsible for transporting, setting up, and selling our bakery products, while representing our brand with professionalism and enthusiasm.

Responsibilities

• Transport baked goods and equipment to farmers markets and holiday events (mileage reimbursed).
• Set up and take down market/event booths independently.
• Operate a POS system and handle cash transactions accurately.
• Provide excellent customer service and communicate confidently with the public.
• Maintain a clean and organized booth that reflects Bamford Bakeshop's quality standards.
• Return leftover product and equipment to the Beaverton shop after events.
• Assist with in-store work during slower seasons if desired (optional).

Requirements

• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle (SUV or similar required; sedans and pickup beds are not suitable for pastry transport).
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Trustworthy and responsible when handling money.
• Comfortable standing and being on your feet for long periods (chairs provided at events).
• Availability for long shifts (8–14 hours) depending on event schedules and travel time.
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Schedule & Seasonality

• Market days: 8–14 hours depending on event and drive time.
• Summer season (May–September): Typically full-time, averaging 4 markets per week (4 working days, 3 days off).
• Winter season (January–March): Reduced hours as markets slow down; option to work in the bakery shop if you would like hours through the slower season.
