Starbird is hiring a full-time budtender who enjoys working with people, takes pride in doing things well, and wants to learn. Cannabis industry experience is welcome, but it isn’t required. Who you are matters far more to us than how much you already know about cannabis.
Our approach:
We care about small-batch cannabis, quality, and the details that make a product worth choosing. Aroma, flavor, cultivation, and extraction all belong in the conversation alongside THC percentage.
That same care shapes how we treat our guests. Some arrive with questions; others know exactly what they want. Your job is to listen, meet them where they are, and help them make a choice they feel good about.
We don’t use sales quotas. We value honest recommendations, thoughtful service, and relationships that bring guests back.
The role
As a budtender, you’ll:
- Welcome guests and make them comfortable asking questions.
- Listen to their preferences, respect their budgets, and recommend products without pressure.
- Explain products clearly, acknowledge what you don’t know, and ask for help when needed.
- Learn our menu, including flower, pre-rolls, concentrates, edibles, beverages, and our in-house cannabis.
- Process purchases accurately and handle cash and payments responsibly.
- Follow identification, compliance, and store procedures every time.
- Keep the store clean, organized, stocked, and ready for guests.
- Complete daily, opening, and closing tasks carefully and accurately.
- Support your coworkers and step in when the team needs help.

Schedule and benefits
This is a full-time position at our Salem dispensary. Evening and weekend availability is important. We’re open daily from 9 AM to 10 PM. Evening shifts start at 3pm or 4pm.
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 35.0 per week
