Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or refrigerated trailers according to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards
- Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries across assigned territories
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and cargo documentation in compliance with FMCSA regulations
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure truck safety and compliance with DOT standards
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route updates, delivery schedules, or any issues encountered during trip
Qualifications
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record and recent experience in commercial truck driving
- experience with tanker trucks and roll-off preferred
- Understanding of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) standards, and hazardous materials regulations
- Ability to handle manual transmission vehicles and perform manual handling tasks safely
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and compliance with all trucking laws related to hazardous goods and dangerous materials
