Dispatcher

Job Description

The Dispatcher is responsible for the coordination and dispatch of the assigned route. This position will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate dispatch of vehicles and drivers to meet customer demand while maintaining high customer service standards. Baltimore Tank Lines is looking for candidates with a good work ethic and a willingness to learn to help with our growth to help with coverage on all shifts. Need to be proficient with computers specifically, excel, word, and outlook. Experience with TMW (Trimble) dispatch software is a plus. BTL is willing to train individuals with little or no experience if they have the base computer skills and a desire to learn. Previous experience in Transportaion industry is a must, but tanker experience is not required. This position comes with weekend and off hours

Essential Duties

• Communicate effectively with customers, drivers, dispatchers, and management.
• Maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
• Work closely with managers, dispatchers, and other employees to ensure efficient operation of the company.
• Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Functions

• Dispatching - Dispatching is a key function of this position. The Dispatcher will be responsible for ensuring that vehicles are properly dispatched and assigned to routes to ensure timely and accurate dispatch.
• Customer Service - Customer Service is a key function of this position. The Dispatcher will be responsible for ensuring that customers receive a high level of service while on the phone or in person.
• Driver Operations - Driver Operations is a key function of this position. The Dispatcher will be responsible for ensuring that drivers are properly assigned to routes and that they comply with company policies and standards.
• Safety - Safety is a key function of this position. The Dispatcher will be responsible for ensuring that the environment is safe during driving and that drivers are following safety practices.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
