What are the responsibilities and job description for the Night/Weekend Outreach Worker position at Baltimore Safe Haven?
We are seeking a Night/Weekend Outreach Worker to engage with individuals during evening and weekend hours, providing support, resources, and referrals to community services. The ideal candidate will work in the field, build trust with vulnerable populations, and assist in connecting them to housing, health, and harm reduction programs.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct outreach during night and weekend hours in designated areas.
Provide information and referrals to housing, health, and social services.
Assist with harm reduction initiatives and distribute supplies as needed.
Document interactions and maintain accurate records.
Respond to crisis situations and escalate appropriate resources.
Collaborate with internal teams and community partners to support client needs.
Qualifications
Must have an active Driver's License with at least 3 years clean record.
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience in outreach, social services, or harm reduction programs is a plus.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and in challenging environments.
Reliable transportation and willingness to work non-traditional hours.
Additional Requirements
Background Check: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.
Obtain certification for HIV testing by the State of Maryland within 180 days of hire.
